Solving our region's housing problems requires collaboration. We work closely with Marin cities and towns on housing through the Housing Working Group. Planning directors and staff from all the jurisdictions are part of this group and meet every month to work on housing together. The group was formed in 2019.
We have collaborated on several projects, including:
- Housing Elements
- Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)
- Inclusionary Policies
This work is funded by grants from the state and Bay Area Association of Governments (ABAG) as well as County and City and Town dollars.
Project Collaborations
- ADUMarin ADU Marin is a partnership between eight cities and towns and the County of Marin. The purpose of this partnership is to provide residents with clear information about the benefits of ADUs.
- Objective Design and Development Standards (ODDS) These development standards provide multi-unit residential and mixed-used projects with a clear review and approval process.
- Rooted in Marin: A Place for Everyone This project aims to craft tools and resources that supports communities affected by displacement. This project is a collaboration between Marin County and the cities and towns.
