Site Planning for Stormwater Management

Get information on stormwater management practices when applying for Planning Permits.

Planning Permits may consider how your project proposes to prevent storm water pollution.

The Marin County Department of Public Works, sets standards for stormwater management. We involve them during the permit review to make sure your project meets all their rules. For some projects, we require you to submit Stormwater Best Management Practice Plans. These include:

  • Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPP)
  • Erosion Sediment Control Plan (ESCP)

The Marin County Department of Public Works, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (MCSTOPP) has helpful resources to help you meet these standards and prepare these plans.

Visit the MCSTOPP website to learn more.
