How to report an issue for a Short Term Rental (STR) in unincorporated Marin.

Before you report a complaint, you need to have the STR address.

You may only report complaints for STRs within unincorporated Marin.
If you have a non-emergency complaint associated with noise, parties, trespassing, and/or traffic/parking related issues, please contact the Marin County Sheriff’s Office at (415) 473-7250. If you feel that the safety of you or others within your community is at risk, please contact 911.

To call the hotline, follow the steps below:

- Call the Hotline
- Call the STR Hotline at (415) 300-4445. The hotline is available 24 hours a day.
- Decide if you want us to notify the Local Contact about the complaint.
- You may inform the STR’s designated Local Contact of the complaint. If you select this option, Host Compliance will notify the Local Contact.
- Log your complaint.
- Host Compliance will log your complaint. Host Compliance is a third-party contractor we hired to help enforce and log the STR rules.

We will review your complaint during regular business hours. We may follow up with you or the STR operator, if necessary.
