When we receive a complaint, we first review the details. We research whether the alleged complaint merits opening up a case. We do this by looking up the property and permit history. If it does, we:
- Open an enforcement case
- Assign a case manager
- Contact the complainant
- Contact the property owner
- Conduct an inspection to confirm whether there's a violation
If we determine a violation exists, we provide the property owner a notice of violation. This notice identifies the violation, corrective actions, and timeline for compliance.
