Short Term Rental Complaints

A Short Term Rental (STR) is a rental of residential property for a lease term of thirty days or less. If you have a complaint about a Short Term Rental within the unincorporated areas of the County, you may contact our Short Term Rental Hotline at (415) 300-4445. When making a complaint you must have the address of the Short Term Rental.

You may also submit a complaint by filling out an online form.

Note: The. Hotline is a 24-hour number operated by Host Compliance. Your complaint will be logged by Host Compliance, and if you select the option to inform the person you list as the Local Contact of the complaint, Host Compliance will contact that person to inform them of the issue.

All complaints received by the Hotline are logged and given to County staff for review during regular office hours. Staff may follow up with you or the Short Term Rental operator.
