The Housing Element includes an inventory of sites of where housing could be proposed in the eight-year cycle (2023-2031) to meet our Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA). Each site is assigned a number of units across income categories. The sites were selected after factoring in:
- State laws around site suitability
- Local knowledge through extensive community engagement.
The Housing Element included a site analysis that examined development capacity. Identification of a site does not require development. If a property owner decides to develop a Housing Element site, additional options may be available to them to support development.
The Site Inventory is included as Appendix C of the 2023-2031 Marin County Housing Element.
