Measure W Working Group

The Measure W Working Group helps decide how the County spends money from Measure W on community housing.

The Working Group is made up of five to nine members who live and/or work in the West Marin Measure W tax area. They help set funding priorities and guidelines for Measure W Community Housing funds.  The Board of Supervisors gives final approval to their recommendations. 

The Working Group meets 2-4 times per year from around January - April.  Every year they update their recommendations based on changing community needs. The members serve for 2 years. The application period for open seats typically opens around September of each year.

Objectives

The Group promotes goals around:

  • Ensuring all West Marin residents and employees have equal access to the housing of their choice;
  • Preserving and expanding the range and supply of adequate, accessible, and affordable housing in West Marin; and
  • Providing local funding to increase and preserve the stock of affordable housing in West Marin.

Duties

Duties of the Working Group include:

  • Providing advice and feedback on community housing needs;
  • Advising staff on plans and solutions to overcome barriers to providing affordable homes in West Marin;
  • Reviewing and providing input on priorities, reflecting community input and feedback; and
  • Attending all scheduled Working Group meetings.
