Notice of Marin County Board of Supervisors Hearing: On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, the Board of Supervisors will consider adopting a resolution to increase amounts of Affordable Housing Impact, Inclusionary Housing In-Lieu, and Commercial Linkage fees based on increases in building costs as reflected in the California Construction Cost Index (CCCI) (Draft Board Packet). The Hearing will take place at 3501 Civic Center Drive, Suite 330, Administration Building, San Rafael, California. The time of the hearing will be provided on the hearing agenda posted on the Board of Supervisors Meetings webpage on Thursday, July 11, 2024.

Marin County is experiencing a severe shortage of affordable housing. Many low- and moderate-income households cannot afford to live here. The policies and fees detailed on this page are required for projects proposing new development or lot splits with the goal of supporting more integrated and diverse communities, and ensuring that new development does not make the affordable housing crisis worse.

There are different requirements based on the type of proposed project. More details are available below.

Applicants interested in incorporating affordable units above and beyond the minimum requirements may be eligible for a reduction or waiver of the associated affordable housing impact fees or in-lieu fees.
